v0.2 patch notes


Gameplay Updates:
Added a stat upgrade feature, which allows you to spend EXP to upgrade stats.
(This has exponentially increasing costs and is intended as a late-game exp sink feature, after learning all the skills you want.)
Added new enemies, alternate designs for some existing enemies, and a couple of new bosses.
Added an auto battle option. Can be configured to auto everything, only mobs, or nothing.
Added a new learnable Art 'Scan' to all characters, which reveals a foe's stats, weaknesses, and resistances.
Added several new equipment.
Added an achievement for beating a post-game boss.

General Updates:
Updated the message upon getting a random equipment to also show the equipment details.
Added new BGMs.
Updated the tutorial sections to include shortcut keys.
(E - equip, R - Arts, I - Inventory, P - Party)
Updated some passive skills to show when their conditions are met/the bonus they currently provide.
Updated title screen with more stuff in the random pool.
Added MEs when opening a chest or defeating a boss.
BGM is now rerolled after defeating a boss (instead of after the stairs)
Renamed the 'Wood' element to 'Nature'.
Added a couple more variations of statues that can spawn in boss rooms.
Updated weapon battle sprites; all weapons (excluding variants of the same weapon) now have a unique sprite. Also updated some weapons to have unique attack animations.
Added pictures to the weapon section of the encyclopedia to show each weapon's sprite.
Updated the encyclopedia to include a section for post-game bosses.
Updated animations of shields with guard effects to be a different colour based on the shield.
Updated battle start animations for bosses to be different from regular mobs.
Added an option to disable battle start animations, or have them only play for boss battles.
Added options to display a more detailed battle log, as well as to control the speed of battle log messages.
Added randomisation to the window colours when entering or exiting battle, entering a new floor, or loading a game. (Can be disabled in options). Also added the option to manually set your window colours.
Added an animation when Cursed Canvas procs.
Renamed the basic attack of birbs and bats, as well as added unique attack animations for elemental bats.
Added flavour texts to some skills and items that did not have them.
Streamlined the description of weapons.
Added more alternate designs for some rooms.
Anima element enemies are now slightly transparent.
Added a couple of alternate pot colours/designs.

Balance Changes:
Reduced equipment drop rate from regular mobs.
Reduced potion drop rates from regular pots and greed pots.
Added a limit to the number of potions that may be carried.

  • Small potions: Max 20
  •  Medium and large potions: Max 10
  •  Giant potions and elixirs (excluding stat up elixirs): Max 5

All other items have had their max limit increased to 999.
Increased Water's debuff duration to 3 turns.
Reduced Vengeance's damage.
Reduced the DEF/RES growth rates of enemies and bosses.

Bug Fixes:
Fixed an issue where an enemy killed by the retaliatory damage of Spiked Shirt would remain on screen.
Fixed an issue in the Marsha battle where she was not using some of her skills.
Fixed Big Bat, Carbuncle, and Big Birb's EXP gain to be same as bosses instead of the default EXP gain.
Fixed Burning Book having the wrong animation and element.
Fixed Silver Birb's attack using the wrong animation.

Other boring, technical stuff (why are you still reading?):
Updated nwjs to 0.49.2 (up from 0.29.4) and PixiJS to 4.8.9 (up from 4.5.4). This should improve performance.
The game no longer ships with the default config file. Instead, it will be automatically created if it does not exist. This should help prevent your settings from being overwritten for future updates.
