//Code.Vibe_Check();
//Code.Vibe_Check(); is a game where you review code, and try to guess if it's written by a human or a vibe coder. Read through the code presented, then click "Human" or "Vibe Coder" to make your guess. How many can you get right?
AI generation disclosure:
For the purpose of including some slop vibe coded snippets, I have, regrettably, used AI. Specifically, I did the highly strenuous task of prompting an AI to write code for things I could easily program myself. I then took the output once it started to vaguely resemble usable code, without even spending two minutes to test it, because that's apparently too much effort for vibe coders.
However, I do not condone nor recommend the use of AI or vibe coding for normal everyday use. Vibe coding causes quite a few problems:
- It makes debugging a lot harder, especially if you do not understand the code because you did not write it, and can potentially cause problems in the future. This phenomenon is known as technical debt, or code debt.
- Many human programmers are sick and tired of being asked for help with debugging vibe coded drivel, especially when it's a lot easier to just do the whole thing from scratch without AI. A couple of communities I used to frequent are no longer pleasant to hang around thanks to vibe coders trying to push their agenda everywhere :(
- It doesn't teach you anything. It is only by doing the coding yourself, that you can learn and improve.
With enough effort, you can do better than some AI. Believe in yourself. If you are struggling with coding, I recommend either using a search engine to find answers to specific questions you may have, looking up w3schools, or reading the documentation of whatever engine you are using.
